# Redact information in a cert package

## Quick guide to redacting information in a cert package

How do I redact information in a cert package? 

SmartCert allows you to remove supplier information or any content/data you don’t want to pass along to your customers. These centralized cert processing tools save time and money, allowing you to keep your workflow in one location.

Centralize your supplier certs through email monitoring or forwarding or add incoming cert packages to your account using your import dashboard to standardize the redaction process and streamline the creation of cert packages for customers! 

Here are the steps to redacting information in a PDF: First, make a copy of a SmartCert from a supplier or edit an existing SmartCert on your Created dashboard

1. Open the document you would like to redact
2. Select the page in the document viewer you’d like to redact to by using the scroll bar on the right of the document
3. Click the redaction icon (x-acto with a square).
4. Your cursor has now changed, allowing you to create a box around the information you wish to redact
5. Draw a square around the information you want to redact
6. Click Apply Redactions to activate your redaction or the trash icon to redo
7. Save your changes by clicking the Save SmartCert button to complete the redaction.
