How do I create a SmartCert for my ITAR parts?
SmartCert allows your documents and certs to maintain the same level of ITAR security you have for your parts when required by your suppliers and customers. Only designated ITAR users in SmartCert can view the documents. Visibility is obscured and access is restricted for your non-ITAR team users. Think of it as putting these SmartCerts behind a digitally locked door, where only the keyholder has access.

Make sure your user account has ITAR security enabled. If you aren’t an admin, you can request this permission from the admin of your company account.

Creating an ITAR SmartCert follows the same process as a standard SmartCert. It is just limited in access to those who have ITAR security enabled

Follow your company’s guidelines on the information you want to include in the SmartCert fields, and which documents you want to upload

Once the SmartCert is created, the information in the dashboard will not be visible to those team members and recipients who do not have ITAR security enabled
Be sure to have your point of contact at your customer update their security permissions to ensure they can receive and review the secure SmartCert.
